Croatia's Most Requested Yacht Charter Is the Split to Dubrovnik One-Way, and My Croatian Charter Shares What to Know Before Booking

Sep 18, 2026

Spain, September 18, 2026 -- Split to Dubrovnik, one-way, new islands every day: it is the route clients ask for by name, more than any other. My Croatian Charter explains why it works so well, when a Split circuit is the smarter week, and how to get the Dubrovnik arrival right.

When clients call about Croatia, one trip comes up more than any other, reports My Croatian Charter, operated by DMA Yachting. They arrive with the same picture in mind: cruising the hotspots of the Dalmatian coast, and its two most famous names are Split and Dubrovnik. The one-way between them is the most requested yacht charter route in the country.

Split has earned its place as the start. The international airport sits just outside the city at Trogir, so guests fly in and board after a short transfer, or even start in Trogir itself, and the first island is only about an hour away. Split is the cruising capital of the coast, with Hvar, Brac, and Vis in a row right offshore.

From there the week reads like the dream itself: jumping down the Dalmatian islands on the brokerage's 7 day Split to Dubrovnik yacht charter itinerary, to the finish every guest remembers, entering Dubrovnik, the most iconic city in Croatia, the walls that played King's Landing in Game of Thrones rising straight from the water.

The fine print is the week itself. A Croatia charter is normally one week, which is also what the brokerage recommends, and Split to Dubrovnik and back with the islands in between is a long haul in seven days, half of it backtracking over water already seen. Croatian yachts also sell their summers in Saturday-to-Saturday blocks, so a yacht that ends her week in Dubrovnik has to run all the way home before the next charter. That fuel and crew time usually lands on the bill as a delivery fee, covered in the brokerage's guide to the Split to Dubrovnik one-way fee.

"For most catamaran charters, and especially for families, we often talk clients out of Split to Dubrovnik and back. It is simply far," said John Boullin, Yacht Charter Broker at DMA Yachting. "Do the islands around Split properly instead, and see Dubrovnik by land before or after the charter. It is a very popular way to do it. And if arriving by sea is not essential, that delivery fee is money better spent on the week itself."

For guests set on arriving by sea, there are more ways in than most expect. A larger, faster yacht, one of Croatia's top luxury motor yacht charters, can do the full circuit with speed to spare and no fee at all. The one-way with a delivery fee buys the arrival without the backtrack. Some yachts waive the fee and take a day off the charter instead. And now and then a return charter from Dubrovnik to Split closes the loop for free.

"The bigger and faster the yacht, the more freedom you have on this route," said Martina Asmus, Owner and Yacht Charter Broker at DMA Yachting. "A quick motorsailer already changes the numbers, and a motor yacht gives you the most freedom of all; it just burns more fuel. One-way with a fee, fee-free with a day handed back, sometimes even the return leg from Dubrovnik. Which version fits your group and your pace is exactly what a broker is for."

The best weeks for summer 2027 are already being reserved, and the yachts that do this route well are the first to go. My Croatian Charter recommends settling the route and the yacht through the autumn, while the full fleet is still open.

WHO CONTROLS TATA SONS? Harish Salve On Board, Trusts, Chandra & RBI | Tata Sons vs Tata Company

The Tata Sons–Tata Trusts governance dispute takes a fresh legal turn as senior lawyer Harish Salve speaks exclusively to Rahul Shivshankar on the questions surrounding the Tata Sons board, N Chandrasekaran’s reappointment and the company’s proposed listing. The Tata Sons board has approved a fresh five-year term for Chandrasekaran by majority vote, while Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata opposed the resolution and the Trusts have called the decision a “legal nullity.” At the heart of the dispute is the role of Tata Trusts’ nominee directors, the company’s Articles of Association and whether a chairman’s casting vote can resolve a disagreement involving the Trusts’ nominees. A legal opinion obtained by Tata Trusts from former Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud has argued that a casting vote cannot substitute for the required affirmative support of the Trusts’ nominee directors n18oc_indian18oc_exclusive CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
