Global storytellers explore Shaanxi's cultural heritage

Xi'An, China, September 18, 2026 -- Shaanxi province, where the Qinling Mountains meet the heartland of Chinese civilization, is home to a cultural legacy shaped over thousands of years. From Sept 15 to 17, "Global Storytellers Trace Sanqin and Feel Shaanxi" event took participants to Xi'an, Baoji, and Hanzhong to explore how heritage and nature flourish in the digital era.

The journey began in Xi'an, where antiquity meets innovation. Participants reflected on the quiet dignity of the Hanyangling Museum before cycling along the ancient Xi'an City Wall and experiencing the pulse of history through the mixed-reality program at Yongning Gate.

Traveling west to Baoji, a cradle of Chinese bronze culture, the global storytellers connected with ancient crafts through hands-on bronze inscription rubbing. In Fengxiang district, they experienced local folk-art traditions through clay sculpture and colorful woodblock prints.

Farther south in Hanzhong, they saw how civilization and nature can flourish side by side. In Yangxian county, crested ibises soared as a living sign of conservation success. At the Zhang Qian Memorial Hall in Chenggu county, they retraced the footsteps of the Silk Road pioneer Zhang Qian and drew parallels between the historical trade route and today's digital bridges of exchange.

This three-day journey underscored the core spirit of contemporary cultural communication: heritage becomes a positive force when it is told well. Through vivid digital storytelling, Shaanxi showed that its legacy has warmth, wisdom and confidence to share with the world.
