ARYAMA SUNDARAM EXCLUSIVE | CONGRESS-CJI ROW | SIR CONTROVERSY | SUPREME COURTSenior advocate Aryama Sundaram has strongly criticised Congress’s request to meet the Chief Justice of India, calling the move an attempt “born out of ignorance”. In an exclusive interview, Sundaram argues that potential litigants should not seek a meeting with the CJI, particularly when issues they wish to raise could come before the same judge for adjudication. The remarks come after Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge sought an appointment with Chief Justice of India Surya Kant to submit a memorandum concerning the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and other related issues. The CJI declined the request, citing judicial propriety, the separation of powers and the fact that related matters were already before the Supreme Court. He indicated that the issues could be pursued through judicial proceedings instead. -speak n18oc_india News18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube
