Delhi SIR latest: The Election Commission has eased the process for voters who receive notices during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for being “unmapped” or having “logical discrepancies.”Under the latest decision, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit voters’ homes to collect the required documents and upload them to ECINet for consideration by the Electoral Registration Officer.Such voters will generally not have to appear personally before the ERO or AERO. Hearings will be held only in exceptional circumstances and, preferably, online. An adult family member can also be authorised to attend an online hearing on behalf of the elector, if required.The decision comes amid the ongoing controversy over Delhi SIR, voter-roll discrepancies, ECINet and the functioning of the Election Commission.
