News18 - Sep 23, 2026

The Election Commission of India is facing a major controversy after a report said Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi raised objections at least 14 times over 10 months on decisions linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The reported concerns include voter additions and deletions, changes to Form 6 and the centralisation of electoral-roll database access. Opposition parties have accused the poll panel of undermining the electoral process and demanded action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Election Commission has rejected the characterization of an internal rift, saying differences and observations are a normal part of deliberations and that final decisions, including those related to SIR, were unanimous. -tacksNews18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube
