India has taken major action against the Shahzad Bhatti Network, with the organisation declared a banned terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), according to reports on September 16, 2026.The development follows a major multi-state crackdown in August in which Indian security agencies reported more than 200 arrests linked to the network across 14 states.
