Verse Fitness Launches “No Space for a Squat Rack” Squat Rack for Apartment Renters and First-Time Homeowners

The Agile Rack NEO folds to seven inches deep and requires no wall mounting, fitting barbell training into multipurpose rooms.

Los Angeles, California, October 5, 2026 -- Verse Fitness launched the Agile Rack NEO on August 1, 2026, a freestanding folding squat rack built for apartment renters and first-time homeowners setting up a home gym without turning a spare room into a permanent training facility. The rack weighs 47 pounds and carries a rated maximum load of 500 pounds.

The rack is aimed at renters and homeowners who want to fit barbell training into their living space without a dedicated gym room. For those training in a bedroom, office, living area or active garage – a folding rack allows the space to serve another purpose between sessions. Additional space considerations for barbell training with the Agile Rack NEO are available on the Verse Fitness website.

"People starting out at home don't need a long equipment list; they need something that fits into the room they already have," said Shane Robert, Strength Coach and Product Developer at Verse Fitness. "A rack that folds away keeps that setup manageable, it’s something that could really help my clients reach their strength goals faster."

For someone considering a first home gym, the range of equipment choices can make the starting point difficult to identify. A barbell and squat rack offer a straightforward option for strength training without assembling a collection of machines and attachments.

The Agile Rack NEO sets up without tools or wall mounting in about three minutes. Folded, it measures 46.5 inches by 10 inches by 7 inches, about the size of a vacuum cleaner, allowing it to be put away between sessions. It ships with a pair of adjustable J-hooks and a pair of adjustable mini-spotter arms. Verse Fitness recommends a barbell inner shaft length of at least 50 inches for use with the full-size rack. Barbells and weight plates are sold separately.

The Verse Fitness family believes that fitness should know no boundaries. Traditional at-home training has often been limited to those with access to large spaces or expensive equipment. Its mission is simply to make serious at-home strength training accessible to everyone.
