The proposed new Secretariat at Pattinapakkam has emerged as a major point of disagreement, with the CPI(M) opposing the proposed site and calling for an all-party discussion.The friction comes ahead of the October 6 bypolls in Madurantakam and Dharapuram, where the CPI and CPI(M) have decided to contest independently rather than join the TVK-led alliance.
